Tesla vs Edison

Words and music by DK
Charles Barrow, Bass

Thomas Edison was never a wizard
Though they called him the wizard of Menlo Park
With his bag and bunsen burner trying to cage up carbon
Sweating with the dwarves grunting down in the dark
Nicola Tesla now there was a wizard
Didn’t play no charter didn’t play no mark
Listen hear that it’s the voice of the angels
Making manifest the cosmic spark
Transmit the energy let it flow through me let it roll over me
Deliver me

Edison was cantankerous Edison was mean
Pushed people around bragged he never needed sleep
Edison loved his patents his copyrights and contracts
Laying on other people lots of terms and conditions
Tesla was human you might say all too human
Got frustrated when other people didn’t see the power in his hand
Migraines synaesthesia black moods of dire depression
That’s the trouble with originality never make everybody understand
Transmit &c

Edison hung out with his pals the notorious robber barons
Advertising moguls and the guy who cooked up rubber tires
Get people addicted to cars and candy bars
A whole society and culture made on ripping people off
Tesla saw through the painted screen
The tiny particles the immense vibrations
Why allocate light why allocate matter
When all that we behold is grand interpenetration
U2 stole back Helter Skelter
From the madman Charlie Manson
Now we’re stealing Tesla back
From the madman Ultron Musk
Transmit &c
Release me from the darkness
Release me from the pit
